Job Description:
L3Harris IMS1 is seeking an experienced Senior Associate, finance analyst who will be responsible for discretionary project management, budget tracking and forecasting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who collaborates cross-functionally with a variety of individuals across the organization. Must be able to effectively interface with senior levels of management. The ideal candidate has a passion and ability to focus on the important business details driving key financial results while continually assessing reasonableness, understanding why something changes, and determining how to achieve desired business results.
This is a highly visible role and has the ability to drive change and create value for the organization through insightful analysis and actionable recommendations.
Essential Functions:
- Finance Business Partner to BD, Engineering and Operations to support all financial functions associated with project management and project execution of discretionary projects (IR&D, B&P, Direct Sell, Capital)
- Responsible for maintenance of charge codes across all discretionary projects, including opening and closing charge codes (upon proper review) and publishing charge code data to functional groups
- Responsible for maintaining project level budget data and publishing actuals/forecast on a weekly and monthly basis to various stakeholders
- Partner with functional groups to build & maintain financial forecasts for monthly forecast reporting (MFR), strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan
- Build and maintain financial forecasts (monthly/quarterly) and budgets. Work with large data sets. Produce variance analysis ensuring data accuracy and on time delivery.
- Identify risks and opportunities to forecast to ensure overall budget management as well as project level budget management;
- Financial reporting process improvement projects;
- Special projects and financial analysis as needed;
- Reporting & tracking weekly/monthly labor metrics (DLU, OT, etc); collaborate with functional leaders to address
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance/accounting/business;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in finance role
- Strong knowledge Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
- Strong analytical skills, detail oriented
- Highly organized and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Focused on teamwork and collaboration
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with SAP/S4 Hana
- Prior experience using Hyperion Planning
- PowerBI experience
- General ledger accounting knowledge
