Job Description:
Seeking a Material Process Engineer to work in a lab environment performing various wet chemistry techniques, moisture analyses, particle size analysis, calorimetry, mechanical property testing.
Essential Functions:
- Manage projects and/or labatory test with general supervision.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Material Process Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Material Process Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Material Process Engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Advanced degree in Chemistry is preferred.
- Quality control lab experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of various wet chemistry techniques, moisture analyses, particle size analysis, calorimetry, mechanical property testing desired.
- Experience with American Standard Test Methods (ASTM’s), Military Specifications, and Weapons Specifications.
- Energetics or Propellant experience is desired.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools; Excel, PowerPoint.
- Project Management experience is desired.
