Job Description
Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our facility next Summer 2025 in Orange (Culpeper), VA.
Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
This posting may represent one or more specific immediate or near-term openings. Those who express an interest may be considered for current and future positions.
Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is Aerojet Rocketdyne’s center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
Essential Functions
- Reviewing and approving drawings for producibility.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements/advancements and reporting status.
- Establishing data collection methods. Learning and applying understanding of variation and statistical analysis to ensure process robustness.
- Creating and releasing process documentation and process specification interpretation.
- Providing real-time analysis of quality drivers, non-conformances, performance, customer escapes and inefficiencies.
Qualifications
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's (preferably at Sophomore/Junior level) or Master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Additional Skills
3.0 GPA or above
Junior standing or above
Solid academic track record of accomplishment
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
Proficient in the use of PC, internet, intranet and electronic office applications
Adept at taking direction, work well with teams and be customer focused
Demonstrated ability to perform on task and follow up on assignments
Able to handle multiple projects at the same time and have basic project management skills
Safe work practices, proper ethics and attention to detail
Candidate must work with moderate guidance on projects with short-term focus. This position requires a positive attitude and personal interaction with various team members and customers
