Job Description:

The Quality Manager be responsible for leading the Quality and business excellence efforts at ForceX. The role will be responsible for driving continual process and product improvement ensuring product and process integrity, leading to customer satisfaction, overall mission success while supporting division quality, delivery and cost targets. This is a hands-on, highly involved Manger role.  Effective collaboration with supply chain, software engineering, contracts, and program management is critical to the role.  The Quality Manager is a professional with comprehensive job area knowledge and in-depth knowledge of project management, managing large and complex projects and processes with minimal direction or oversight to achieve operational targets and goals with significant improvements in business or functional results.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement the Quality Assurance effort for a manufacturing line for Counter UxS systems
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Oversee the AS9100 certification process and ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvement and ensure configuration management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for quality-related issues.
  • Communicate quality performance and issues to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years minimum prior related experience within Quality or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered;
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience and working knowledge of AS 9100/ ISO 9001:2015 and other respective quality standards and compliance
  • ISO9100 or AS9100 auditor training/certification.
  • Experience with Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and First Article Inspections (FAI) Experience and working knowledge of U.S. government trade compliance, regulations and laws (FAR / DFAR / ITAR / Title 10 USC);
  • DO -178 Experience and Certification
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar technical field
  • Experience with MRP supply & demand requirements
  • Defense industry experience working on DoD programs is preferred 
  • Experience with government property inventory management would be beneficial
  • In depth knowledge of quality and reliability methods and procedures for hardware and software systems as they apply to the aerospace and electronics industry including Optics, composite structures, electro-mechanical assembly and test.
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification and/or proven education or work history in leading and implementing projects.
  • Highly collaborative style, capable of working across multiple functional areas to drive results.
  • Experience with Configuration Control management practices.
