Job Description:
The Specialist, Systems Engineer position is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
- Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
- Design and develop physical and logical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
- Designs and maintains networks (both LAN & WAN) connecting airborne and ground systems via terrestrial and BLOS (Beyond Line of Sight) circuits
- Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements
- Write system level requirements
- Perform requirement traceability
- Perform other duties as assigned Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- OR Master’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience
- OR in lieu of a degree a minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
- Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning
- Be able to write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements
- Understand requirement traceability
- Be able to prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
- Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
