Job Description:
This opening is for a Manager of the FAA ODA Flammability group in the Greenville, TX office. The person filling this position will lead a group of five or more experienced professionals that are FAA ODA Flammability Unit Members, Certification Task Leaders, and Unit Member candidates. This position reports to the Director of the ISR Sector Airworthiness department.
Essential Functions:
- Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts
- Manages the implementation of functional strategies and recommends operational plans that directly impact the ODA department goals
- Manages the experienced professionals of the ODA Flammability department
- Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans for the ODA Flammability department to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish departmental business goals
- Has hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within the ODA Flammability organization
- Communicates with parties within and outside of the organization, which includes large customers and vendors
- Works to influence others to accept new practices, concepts, and approaches
- Requires ability to communicate and influence leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the ODA department
- Responsible for improving upon existing processes or establishing new processes and systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience.
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Existing FAA Flammability Delegations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience leading and establishing guidance across diverse teams is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Existing DoD SECRET security clearance.
