Job Description:
Lead and coach multiple Zero Defect Plan (ZDP) projects and 8Ds resulting from Customer Escapes and DCMA Level II CARs to determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA).
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Quality Control, etc. to implement and maintain robust and sustainable quality improvement actions, corrective and preventive actions, and establish mistake-proof solutions to address internal nonconformances, Cost of Poor Quality/Rework, defect, customer escape drivers, etc.
- Lead ZDP teams to achieve/exceed key strategic metric categories: COPQ, Customer Escapes, DPPM/defect reduction, Quality & Customer Yield, etc.
- Lead analysis of defect and rework data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support relevant aspects of New Product Development (NPD) phases, including APQP/FMEA.
- Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures (i.e., Corrective Action Boards) including conducting audits as needed.
- Actively oversee all major Corrective Action 8Ds to ensure adequate containment, root cause and preventive actions are in place and track actions to closure.
- Facilitate implementation of requirements associated with the Operational Excellence (OpEx) Quality Pillar as directed by Corporate.
- Ensure compliance to industry, regulatory, and statutory standards including, but not limited to DCMA, DOD, FAA, federal, state, and local regulations, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management.
- Knowledge and experience using Quality tools and principles (8D, ZDP, FMEA, RCCA, APQP, etc.).
- Understanding of an aircraft maintenance / repair / overhaul facility.
- Experience in analyzing data and ability to identify trends.
- Experience using data analytics, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and presentation skills.
- Strong written, analytical and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of influencing a wide range of audience and having demonstrated leadership skills to win support without direct reporting structure.
- Interpersonal skills: Engaging communicator, strong collaboration, patience, and open minded.
- Six Sigma/Lean experience a plus.
