Job Description:

Project Engineering is the art of organizing technical chaos into precise technical direction with a clear vision for your engineering team to focus on and execute.  As a Project Engineer, you are given technical authority from Engineering Leadership and the Chief Engineer to execute assigned programs.  Project Engineering requires technical expertise, a willingness to make decisions to lead the project team to the required capability or delivery, and the ability to communicate internally to leadership and externally to the customer. Project Engineering is empowered to guide the program from a notional idea or customer requirement, to a delivered platform capable of executing its intended mission.

Project Engineering responsibilities will include the following:

  • Proposal Execution – Formulate and communicate a solution, collect/review labor and material costs, and summarize proposal information for senior leadership review
  • Program Planning, Guidance, and Execution – Work with program management to develop the program execution schedule, effectively communicate with the entire program team, and guide the team through the execution of all required tasking to complete the contract
  • Customer and Senior Leadership Interaction and Communication – Effectively communicate with external customers and internal senior leadership on the design and implementation of the contractually required capabilities and manage expectations

Job Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor degree with a minimum of twelve (12) years of applicable experience. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Ability to perform as Project Engineer for various engineering disciplines required. Experience with as many of the following engineering disciplines is desired:

  • Project Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Aeronautical Engineering (Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Stress, Mass Properties, Aerodynamics, etc.)
  • EMI/EMC Engineering
  • Software/ Hardware Engineering
  • Test Engineering
  • Position requires an active DoD TS-SCI Security Clearance, the ability to maintain the stated clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Experience with the following processes is required:

  • Bidding and Proposal
  • Program Planning, Guidance, and Execution
  • Customer Interaction and Communication
  • Executive Level Interaction and Communication
  • Engineering Execution

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Mission System Integration
  • Experience integrating multiple Avionics & Mission Systems within a single project
  • FAA Part 25 Certification Procedures and Airworthiness Requirements
    • Commercial Derivative Military Aircraft experience
    • Supplemental Type Certification and Major Repair/Alteration experience
  • Military Type Certification experience
  • Transport Program Area experience
