Job Description:

The Integration Mission Systems segment is currently seeking a Director of Systems Engineering to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the North Texas Systems Engineering team. This role involves spearheading initiatives to enhance sensor capabilities through the adoption of innovative technologies, aligning the team with business objectives, and ensuring the successful execution of aircraft delivery contracts.

The ideal candidate for the Systems Engineering leadership role will be an expert in Systems Engineering processes, capable of ensuring seamless integration and delivering measurable results. We seek a technically proficient leader who excels in fostering innovation and building strong relationships across all organizational levels, from executives to frontline employees. The successful individual will additionally possess exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be skilled in consultation, influence, and conflict management, effectively harmonizing diverse perspectives and interests.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and implement systems engineering processes to achieve best-in-class execution, focusing on quality, schedule, and cost performance.
  • Ensure the systems engineering staff possesses the necessary skills and experience to meet current and future business demands.
  • Spearhead recruitment and foster professional growth to assemble, develop and retain a skilled, high-performing team.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of operational procedures, financial planning, and resource distribution.
  • Guide and develop the Systems Engineering team, promoting a culture that values excellence and teamwork.
  • Make recommendations for both capital and non-capital investments to support departmental objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs in collaboration with sector/segment leadership.
  • Create, review, and approve systems engineering proposals to align with business opportunities.
  • Oversee departmental budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Determine the optimal investment of capital to enhance test capabilities and productivity.
  • Craft and execute strategic plans for technological growth and procedural enhancements.
  • Collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, including program office, engineering, operations, and quality assurance.
  • Operating within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment, understanding the unique demands and regulatory requirements.
  • Recognized as a change agent within the business, adept at driving innovation from concept to successful execution.
  • Creating and submitting detailed management-level reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 15 years of Director, Systems Engineering experience.
  • Graduate Degree with 13 years of Director, Systems Engineering experience.
  • In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of Director, Systems Engineering experience.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance at the time of hire.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
