Job Description:

The Subcontracts Management Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the subcontracting process. This Subcontracts Management Lead will play a leading role in issuing solicitations, negotiation of supplier agreements, and subcontract management for complex commercial supplier agreements in support of the growing and exciting Commercial Avionics sector.

Essential Functions:

  • Motivated self-starter well versed in the Subcontract Process Flow, Management, and Term and Condition negotiations.
  • Develops all solicitations and terms and conditions of new subcontracts for compliance with program requirements.
  • Must recognize and take exception to any undesirable terms and conditions and develop alternatives to those proposed or requested by the supplier.
  • Able to utilize competitive and strategic information to develop detailed negotiation strategies and program implementation plans.
  • Participates in the strategic development of complex proposals by providing key supplier technical and commercial information.
  • Apply expertise in managing complex subcontracts.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide array of professional levels and functions
  • Ability to work well independently while maintaining a “team” mentality in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Follow strategic direction set by Program and functional leadership.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all subcontract requirements are accomplished. For major programs, support program review meetings by providing information or discussing strategic supplier issues and opportunities.
  • Manages relationships with key and strategic suppliers. Develops and implements a plan for on-site visits, program reviews, and meetings with these suppliers.
  • Address subcontract changes to determine the impact to both cost and schedule.
  • Works with supplier on equitable adjustments.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Vendor and Supplier Agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end to end vendor and supplier agreements process, including drafting contracts, negotiating terms and conditions, and continuing subcontract management.
  • This role may require travel, which will be based on business needs, as well as occasionally working extended hours. 

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex task.
  • Demonstrated work in a cross-functionally, complex and fast paced organization.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing business acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change through influencing broader stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
