About your next Challenge as a CF 188 Mechanical Aircraft (AVN/Airframe) Technician:
L3Harris MAS plays an important role in In-Service Support (ISS) of the Canadian CF-18 (Hornet) Fighter aircraft Program. Our mandate includes performing modifications, inspections and repairs on the propulsion systems and associated components and on the mechanical systems as well as the complex verification and maintenance tasks of the CF-18 aircraft.
Essential Functions as a CF 188 Mechanical Aircraft (AVN/Airframe) Technician:
- Document non-conformities according to established procedures;
- Draft and complete inspection reports and Work Orders accurately;
- 6 years' experience on aircraft (preferred);
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and discipline as detailed in Canadian Forces Technical Orders,
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections/repairs and report results to Supervisor;
- Participate in the preparation of aircraft (excluding tasks relating to electrical, avionics and electronic systems) for the purpose of the flight or acceptance by the customer;
- Perform engine tests and secondary ground feeding tests;
- Verify, adjust, repair or replace devices and equipment of a complex nature such as:
- Landing Gear systems;
- Hydraulics systems;
- Flight Control systems;
- Air conditioning system;
- Environmental Control system
- Fuel System;
- Mass and center Inspection.
- Act as a team member, providing assistance to other crew members as required;
- Perform Daily inspections on AMSE equipment, ensuring serviceability;
- Observe and adhere to all safety regulations in the performance of duties, ensuring absolute compliance of safety policies and procedures;
- Maintain work area cleanliness, in compliance with safety regulations;
- Follow the rules of the control of the tooling;
- Assist in initiating technical and administrative reports as required;
- Forward supply requirements to section supply coordinator in a timely fashion, ensuring stock levels are maintained;
Qualifications:
- Graduated from a TCCA recognized AME Basic Training program focused on “M” Rating or;
- Completed RCAF AVN trade training with an aircraft on-type course, preferably with experience on aircraft airframe systems;
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Very good knowledge of CF-18 Technical Orders;
- Knowledge of Canadian Forces aircraft maintenance operation;
- Be conversant with CFTOs and other technical information pertaining to Engines and related components;
- Ability to work independently, with minimal direction or as part of a team;
- Ability to present ideas/solutions to peers, technical staff, customers and supervisors (e.g., new or improvement processes, procedures);
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new software systems; and
- Proven organizational ability.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
