Job Description:
Manages team of manufacturing engineers responsible for multiple aspects of manufacturing including review of design drawings for manufacturability, methods development and tooling design. Directs daily activities of the team and works with other disciplines to effectively achieve goals.
Essential Functions:
- Leads and directs Manufacturing Engineering team through daily activities.
- Works with Quality, Engineering, and Safety organizations to achieve common goals.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
- Provides design for manufacturability and assembly feedback to design center.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings and requirements to translate to process planning that produces conforming hardware.
- Provides technical guidance and/or training to shop floor, design and management teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant engineering experience.Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related engineering experience.In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with all levels of manufacturing staff.
- Previous experience with critical tooling design and methods development.
- Previous experience leading manufacturing efforts for critical programs.
