Job Description:

This position is responsible for Quality control, process improvement, training and technical support related to the Annual Service Contract (ASC) support for Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program, including suppliers of materials, products or services used in development and sustainment of systems.  This position will also provide technical support new and ongoing projects supported by the Integrated Technical Services field group at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station as well as other duties assigned.

Quality Assurance

  • Ability to instruct workmanship standards in connectorization, wire-wrap, and soldering
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers ensuring quality standards are in place and executed
  • Develop and implement quality processes and procedures using quality control statistics and analyses
  • Perform elements of Advanced product Quality Planning (Process Flow Diagrams & Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and First Articles)
  • Perform statistical analysis for continuous process improvements
  • Production Quality Engineering support
  • Using Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) to determine Root Cause for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications and implement effective Corrective Action as needed
  • Use Six-Sigma & Lean concepts for supplier improvement of quality and delivery metrics
  • Write inspection procedures, assist in reviewing and evaluating in-process rejections for obtaining proper product dispositions
  • Provide training of basic quality methodologies to support supplier partnerships
  • Perform Quality Assurance Receiving Inspections, in-process inspections, as built configuration verifications, Government sell-off
  • Perform Statistical Process Control, Predictive Quality methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies

Technical Support

  • Provide Quality Assurance support for manufacturing work documentation with minimal oversight
  • Review and recommend revisions to procedure/policies and work instructions
  • Strong written, presentation and communication skills
  • Support process improvement initiatives both technical and operational in nature
  • Technical support for the installation, grooming, operation, maintenance, and modification of complex electronic systems with oversight
  • Willingness to travel (domestically/International) up to 10% percent
  • Clearance if desired, ability to travel, working extended hours.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related (military and/or commercial) experience.
  • Ability to facilitate Root Cause Analysis using Six-Sigma tools or equivalent
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive assignments to closure with minimal oversight
  • Ability to perform trend analysis on defects versus lot acceptances
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with emphasis in Quality Systems, Quality Control, Auditing, Inspection
  • Minimum 4 years experience with inventory auditing and replenishment
  • Minimu 4 years experience presenting to customer and management with minimal oversight
  • The ability to obtain and maintain DoD secret security clearance
  • Valid US Passport

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Certified (CIS or CIT) IPC-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-0001 standards
  • Certified to Navy Strategic Systems Program (SSP) OD51700
  • Critical Supplier auditing team member
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with Predictive Quality and problem-solving methodologies
  • Minimum 4 years experience auditing
  • Familiarity with Circuit Card Assembly and cable manufacturing process
  • First Article and Source Inspections
  • ISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experience
  • Lean Six-Sigma (belt certification)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Procedure/Report authoring, revising
  • Quality Assurance inspection experience (receiving, shipping, in-process, as-built)
  • Quality Systems audit experience
  • Root Cause Corrective Action training
  • SharePoint database experience
