Job Description: Lead, R&D Strategy and Analytics
As a member of the Corporate Technology team, the R&D Strategy and Analytics Lead plays an important role in shaping the company’s technology strategy, with a strong focus on supporting and shaping our R&D investment plan, analyzing our R&D portfolio, aligning R&D data with related business development and financial data, and supporting technology initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Support the L3Harris’ R&D strategic planning process through research, analysis, and presentation of findings and recommendations
- Lead CTO Office efforts to connect IRAD data and roadmaps with data in business development and financial systems
- Develop strategies and roadmaps that advance our key enterprise technology focus areas
- Support Enterprise Focus Areas and partner internally to plan supporting initiatives
- Provide analysis of our R&D plans using standard portfolio metrics, such as ROI and NPV
- Develop alternative methods to measure the strategic value of our IR&D portfolio and communicate this to executive leadership
- Standardize IRAD management processes by aligning varying business processes and managing a standard IRAD reporting and review process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Very strong Excel and data analytics skills
- Understanding of standard financial metrics used to measure R&D portfolios
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize strategy and data in PowerPoint for executive leadership
- Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across geographically-disbursed teams
- Highly collaborative team player; able to lead by influence
- Aerospace & defense (A&D) industry experience
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $108,500-$201,500. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $125,000-$232,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
