Job Description:
This position a bargaining represented position and is responsible for all aspects of assembly and repair of printed circuit boards, electronic cabinets, cable harnesses, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies. Typical duties may include; hand soldering, mechanical assembly, inspection, cable assembly, electronic rack assembly, electronic system assembly, point-to-point wiring.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret electronic and mechanical diagrams and assembly instructions.
- Able to obtain IPC-610 and/or J Standard 001 certifications
- Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical assembly
- Ability to tolerate exposure to solder paste, flux, and solder fumes.
- Proficient computer skills to include using Microsoft products (i.e., word, email)
- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in mechanical assembly, hand soldering, and self-inspection
- IPC-620 certifications
- Three (3) or more years of experience in high tech electronics environment
- Completion of a certified technical school training
