From 11 UK sites, our team of nearly 1,000 people delivers unique capabilities across space, air, land, sea and cyber for military, security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide.

L3Harris in Bristol/Burgess Hill/Barrow provides warship automation systems through control and simulation solutions that are in service on Albion Class Landing Platform Docks and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers. More systems are being developed and delivered for Type 26 and Type 31 Frigates.

You will provide 1st/2nd line technical support on a range of desktop systems, peripherals and software; using telephone support, remote support and onsite support.

This role might also include project-based work, out-of-hours maintenance and support, and UK travel.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Triaging Helpdesk tickets through ServiceNow
  • Imaging PCs/Laptops
  • Mobile phone management/tracking/configurations
  • New Hire/Leaver process
  • Providing remote support to small offices and home users
  • Printer/Copier management
  • Asset Management
  • Scheduling and managing upgrades and backups of hardware and software systems
  • Ensuring back-up systems operate effectively (would require clearance)
  • Potential travel to various sites across the EMEA region for onsite support
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Work closely with international peers in different time zones

What you’ll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven commercial experience within a varied Desktop/Server/Network support role
  • Experience of working to SLAs as well as creating and communicating clear expectations to the customer
  • Excellent customer service and people skills in-person and remotely via voice and messaging
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and desktop products (Win 10/11 & M365)
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration
  • Good knowledge of hardware troubleshooting experience of laptop/desktop environments
  • Fundamental understanding of LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewall and Security products
