Job Description:
The Field Technician performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products at customer and/or field locations. This position will be required to work on high-powered electronic equipment in an industrial environment, aboard ships, as well as commercial facilities. This role will be required to perform emergency and scheduled maintenance and assist in the removal, modernization, and installation of customer equipment and may be required to troubleshoot equipment down to component board level. Works under limited supervision and may be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
Essential Functions:
- Provides customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems
- Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
- Troubleshoots and performs diagnostic test of equipment malfunctions.
- Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
- May provide onsite training of customer support personnel. Responsible for the installation, check out, operation, maintenance and repair and modification of customer equipment and/or software. Performs diagnostic tests to troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
- Interprets customers' needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 65% CONUS and OCONUS
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, move auxiliary equipment on casters, move heavy parts and sub-assemblies, and be able to perform the above duties indoors and outdoors during inclement weather.

Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- 2+ years experience reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams and installation drawings
- 2+ years experience documenting all test findings, status and initiate procedure changes as required by company procedures
- Possess and maintain a valid US Passport
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Nuclear Navy principles and regulations is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
- Competent computer skills related to Microsoft office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $58,500 - $108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
