Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Facilities Associate Manager with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience. The successful Facilities Associate Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all company facilities are in excellent operational condition. This role involves overseeing the maintenance team, managing maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. As for (EHS), the successful candidate will support site objectives, with wide-ranging knowledge of environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs and regulations. Will assist in the development, organization, administration, enforcement, and continuous improvement of all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for managing on-site facilities staff, supporting contractors and service providers.
- Oversee interior space planning/allocations, furniture and equipment layouts, communication services and networking requirements, construction management, maintenance and operations of all company facilities and grounds, of the facility.
- Develops, manages, and tracks facilities capital and operating expense budgets, establishes long-range facilities strategic plans in support of business goals.
- Ensures facilities’ compliance with building codes, guidelines, and regulations.
- Responsible for preventative, routine and emergency repair and maintenance of all facilities and facilities support equipment.
- Responsible to maintain and utilize a facilities maintenance management and work order systems.
- Inspects facilities and evaluates HVAC, electrical, lighting, systems, etc.… for size, condition, and suitability for building operations & occupancy.
- Coordinates work of contractors and interfaces with external government agencies on facilities matters.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment for employees and visitors.
- Develop and manage the facilities maintenance budget, including cost projections and analysis.
- Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Respond to emergency situations or breakdowns and coordinate rapid and effective solutions.
- Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices within facility operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support company-wide operations and events.
EHS
- Participate actively with cross-functional teams to establish policies and directions to achieve targets and objectives within the EHS program.
- Participate in and/or lead the investigation of occupational injuries and illness (both actual and potential). Fulfill OSHA recordkeeping requirements associated with occupational illnesses and injuries. Work with HR on occupational case management and restricted duty assignments.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring of EHS programs and policies such as hazard communication, PPE selection, machine guarding, and control of hazardous energy, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations. Additionally, ensure standardization with Corporate EHS policies and procedures.
- Work directly with stakeholders within the organization to ensure EHS and regulatory requirements are met during facility expansion and renovation, space planning, and any other changes to facilities or work areas.
- Maintain current chemical inventory and approve new chemicals prior to their arrival onsite.
- Participate in and/or lead formal monthly EHS compliance audits. Document the results of these audits, disseminate to affected personnel, and track to effective closure. Compile documented evidence of closure for all findings.
- Oversee management of required Environmental, Health, and Safety documentation. Ensure records are properly identified, maintained, organized, and available as needed. Maintain compliance with all applicable retention requirements.
- Develop and provide EHS trainings, communications, and briefings to fulfill applicable regulatory requirements and foster a culture of safety within the facility.
- Ability to work in multiple locations and environments including offices, laboratories, manufacturing areas, and outdoor testing areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned within scope of abilities.
- Clearance if desired, ability to travel
- Flexible to support activities and emergency response measures, when needed, included off-shift
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- 4+ years managing on-site facilities staff, supporting contractors and service providers.
- Requires management and leadership knowledge in job area.
- Typically has comprehensive knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline and may have broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
- 4+ years of experience working in the Environmental Health & Safety function within an organization.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Active Clearance if required.

- Experience in overseeing construction, renovation, or relocation projects.
- These skills enable a facilities manager to effectively oversee the functionality, safety, and efficiency of a building or group of buildings, ensuring that they meet the needs of the organization and its employees.
- Experience interpreting and applying DoD regulations.
- Experience using and leveraging EHS tools and systems.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $82,500.00 MIN - $153,000.00 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
