Job Description:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for performing analytics and statistical analysis to drive performance improvements across a broad range of business functions including Production, Engineering, Quality and Operations. A key responsibility of this positon will be the coordination of all internal audit activities to support the Tempe sites continued ISO 9001:2015 certification process.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work directly with test and production personnel. Take time studies, calculate throughput and cycle times to reduce variability, achieve improved productivity, reduce cycle times and waste.
- Reviews and recommends changes to existing business procedures and methods by incorporating data analysis techniques.
- Present results to management, including data-driven business recommendations and alternatives.Provides accurate timely status reports/scoreboards, delivering assignments on-time with a high level of quality.
- Collaborate with users and team members to provide accurate estimates for assigned tasks. Work individually and as a team member to ensure stability of company production systems.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills and an innate desire to learn and continually improve. Robust understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, Quality Management Systems, AS9100, and knowledge of design techniques, tools, and related principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models desired.
- Knowledge of practical application of Engineering science and technology; including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services is desired.
- Required statistical skills include 8D, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, PPAP and regression analysis.
- Knowledge of statistical and simulation software, e.g. Arena, MINITAB, JMP, Matlab, SAS and SimCad.
- Experience in creating Access databases and Excel Reports, using modules, forms, macros and formulas.
- Knowledge in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 a plus. Six Sigma and / or LEAN manufacturing certification a plus.
