Job Description:
L3Harris is currently seeking an RF antenna engineer with technical expertise in the design and analysis of innovative antennas. The qualified candidate will have exciting, challenging, and rewarding opportunities to support existing and develop next generation military communications applications. This important work contributes to the safety and effectiveness of US and allied nations’ war fighters. An engineer in this position is responsible for leading projects, developing and managing schedules, generating bids/proposals, and participating in the entire antenna development life cycle. The antenna engineers working in this field often work on a variety of cutting edge projects over their careers, as we design systems for the ground, air, shipboard, and space-based communication systems.
The Antenna Engineer is expected to:
- Proficient with 3-D full-wave electromagnetic modeling tools such as CST, HFSS or Grasp
- Conduct antenna testing in near field and/or far field chambers, collect results, analyze and present to internal teams and customers
- Support integration/validation of new product designs
- Provide production support
- Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team
- Generate software bids/proposals in response to government RFPs
- Conformal and/or low-profile antenna and array experience
- Absorber design and modeling experience
- Knowledgeable about electronic beam forming, beam steering and array synthesis
- An understanding of Common Datalink Waveforms
- Develop, analyze, prototype and implement antenna/array systems for military EW, ISR and communications systems
- Experience in antenna development for military applications including 1GHz and higher frequencies
- experience designing antennas at the frequencies of 14 GHZ or higher
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior RF/Antenna engineering experience.
