Position Overview
The Director of Inventory and Scheduling will have ~120 reports and will lead the following groups: master scheduling, shipping, government property, and inventory management. This leader will be expected to establish a performance-based culture and operational cadence that matches the requirements of the business. This leader will be responsible for reaching the level of operational function and discipline to support factory schedule modeling and higher velocity through the factory. This leader will be expected to elevate the knowledge base of the current inventory team from physical management of inventory to financial stakeholders for critical business objectives such as the reduction of $400M+ of net inventory.
Job Description
- Leads the management teams tasked with scheduling, shipping, government compliance, and inventory management.
- Provide clear and accurate visibility of schedule performance within the factory, including transparency in current state and actionable plans with stakeholders (Operations leadership, suppliers, customers, internal teams, etc.)
- Manage teams responsible for partnership with industrial engineering and improve the ability to model scenarios to achieve optimized business results.
- Oversee the management of maintaining positive industry relationships with respect to DCAA/DCMA and company-wide Contract Compliance groups.
- Leverage data analytics tools to simulate production scenarios and outcomes, helping to determine best path forward.
- Implement/utilize Continuous Improvement practices to eliminate past due items and execute on backlog plans.
- Develop an increased knowledge base reflective of industry best practices and standards within assigned organizational groups to meet/exceed critical business objectives.
- Ensures direct reports receive necessary training in the following: Code of Conduct, required regularly cadenced (annual, bi-annual, quarterly), & job-specific training.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree and 15 years of related experience. Graduate Degree with minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Continuous Improvement approach to leadership with mastery of shipping, receiving, transportation, trade compliance, and stockroom operations, customer service, problem solving, and time management.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Word, Excel, and Access. ERP (LN, Infor) experience or equivalent ERP system such as SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to address audiences at varying levels.
- Experienced working in a DoD contractor environment.
- Current/active, or ability to obtain a DoD Clearance.
- Ability to travel as needed.
