Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to support programs in the Intel & Cyber Strategic Missions Division to ensure programs and teams are executing to the full potential of the teams and technology.  The Chief Engineer will apply industry best practices and relevant experience to ensure excellent execution and performance. You will support all phases of the software lifecycle, including refining requirements, software implementation, integration, debugging, and full documentation.  In your role you will be reviewing team milestones, deadline, and schedules, and managing the team Agile process.

Essential Functions:

  • Subject matter expert on the development team that uses agile methodologies combined with mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure.
  • Develop new software, adapt old software implanting new capabilities.
  • Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.
  • Help bridge technology gaps from new development to Ops and Maintenance.
  • Clearly communicate a common vision to team members, adjacent teams, and customers.
  • Train and mentor software leadership across efforts.
  • Translate design requirements and workflows into working software.
  • Drive software execution excellence on L3Harris’ highest priority programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • 6+ years of experience of C++ and Web development using Agile methodology with iterative cycles.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Linux.
  • 2+ years of experience with DevOps CI/CD pipeline.
  • 2+ years of experience gathering and reporting quality and productivity metrics.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with a variety of scripting and software languages (i.e., C++, C, Ruby, Perl, Python, Ajax) on RTOS.
  • RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) experience with VxWorks or GreenHills.
  • OOA/OOD/UML experience.
  • Linux kernel or Zynq experience.
  • Experience with Qt framework.
  • DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Scrum Master experience.
