About your next Challenge as a Senior Specialist, Integration, Verification and Validation Lead:
The Verification and Validation Lead is responsible to a dedicated team performing all aspects of verification and validation of naval communications systems for military and commercial applications. The candidate will oversee the planning, integration, testing, and delivery of deliver a product of the highest quality. He or she should be self-motivated, creative, proactive and collaborative. The V&V lead will work closely with the embedded software designers, hardware designers, product owner, V&V specialists and stakeholders, executing test iterations, tracking/reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating resolution. Frequent interactions with customers, stakeholders, and third-party test facilities will require an individual with a strong knowledge base and self-confidence.
What will you do:
- Recommend / make improvements in processes, systems, or products;
- Estimate work packages for a dedicated engineering team across multiple programs;
- Provide input into new naval systems products/processes and implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results;
- Support requests for Proposals (RFP) , including the creation of bid packages and review responses for compliance to technical requirements
- Help resolve technical issues arising during the implementation, integration and testing of the system and subsystem elements;
- Support certification activities for the system at the equipment, system, and ship level
- Review and support the development of engineering artifacts including:
- Trade studies and engineering budgets (power, weight, design margin, etc.);
- Risk Analysis including identification of risks, write risk statements, and prepare risk mitigation strategies;
- System test cases, plans, procedures, and results
- Technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors
- Requirements analysis and development for subsystem elements
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 10 years experience in the systems engineering life cycle, including typical tools for requirements development and management (e.g. DOORS);
- Experience leading and/or supporting:
- Requests for Proposals (RFP) , including the creation of bid packages and review responses for compliance to technical requirement
- Product Integration, Verification and Validation (PIVV) of complex systems-of-system
- PIVV activities and teams
- Software and hardware development teams in the PIVV process for system and subsystem designs
- Resolution of technical issues arising during the implementation, integration and testing of the system and subsystem elements;
- Knowledge of commercial and military standards for naval shipboard communications systems
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
