Job Description:
As the leader of an L3Harris Test Engineering group, you are responsible for the validation and sustainment of Specialized Test Equipment to be used during factory acceptance testing. The Group Leader directs the team’s planning and work activities in order to satisfy the technical and schedule needs of the larger organizational structure. The Test Engineering Group Leader functions as a member of the management team reporting to the L3Harris site Test Engineering management chain. Strong technical, leadership and organizational skills are required. This is a first shift position.
Candidate will be accountable for driving key program, factory, and department initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Work with Program Management to plan, budget, and schedule product flow and equipment maintenance.
- Manage and lead multiple individual contributors on multiple shifts to success with a focus on policy and strategy implementation.
- Provide employee performance feedback and assessments for a multi-disciplined team of engineers and technicians.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or schematics to perform work duties
- Moderate understanding of Labview / Test Stand Software
- Lean, continuous improvement mindset
Qualifications:
- Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across the function. Typically has mastery within a specific technical area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Management and leadership experience related to engineering development and sustainment projects.
- Knowledge and skills within Electrical or Software Engineering fields and a broad understanding of other fields related to automated test equipment development.
- Experience in the use of common project management tools such as MS Project.
- Experience in the use of common test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc).
- Experience with fiber optic concepts.
Preferred Additional Skills: (These are additional skills and experience that would be preferred in ideal candidates but not a deal breaker)
- Strong technical, analytical and critical thinking / reasoning skills.
- Experience with LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI, TestStand is a plus.
