Job Description:

As a Sr. Specialist, Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) at L3Harris Technologies, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions for the  Army INSCOM G-7 Network.  We are looking for people that possess a deep understanding of networking, virtualization, and security principles, along with hands-on experience deploying and managing security controls in CISCO devices and VMware virtualized environments.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions for both CISCO devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and VMware virtualized environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, etc.).
  • Configure and maintain CISCO security products such as Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to enforce network security policies and controls.
  • Implement and manage security features and controls within VMware environments, including virtual networking, NSX security policies, and virtual firewalls.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits (including creating STIG checklists) of both CISCO and VMware environments to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend remediation measures on a quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the design, deployment, and operation of CISCO and VMware-based networks and systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including security policies, procedures, standards, and configuration guidelines for CISCO devices and VMware environments.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to CISCO and VMware environments, and make recommendations for enhancing our security posture.
  • US DOD Security Clearance: TS//SCI Required
  • Travel up to 10% as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • US DOD Security Clearance: TS//SCI Required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in information security roles, with expertise in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions for both CISCO devices and VMware environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, as well as virtualization technologies and principles.
  • Hands-on experience with CISCO security products (e.g., Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower) and VMware technologies (e.g., vSphere, NSX).
  • Experience with security assessment tools, penetration testing methodologies, and security incident response procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are preferred but not required.
