Job Description:

The Sr. Associate, Procurement is a developing procurement professional responsible for supporting the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in support of business and program requirements. This role applies working knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures to perform standard procurement assignments and support day-to-day purchasing operations in a regulated environment.

Working under general supervision, the Sr. Associate, Procurement executes routine to moderately varied procurement activities across the purchasing lifecycle, including requisition review, supplier solicitation, quotation analysis, purchase order placement, order administration, and closeout. The role follows established policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure procurement actions are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal requirements.

The Sr. Associate partners with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support timely delivery, accurate documentation, and effective order execution. This position is expected to exercise sound judgment within defined guidelines, identify and resolve routine procurement issues, and escalate more complex matters to higher-level professionals or management. The role contributes to team, program, and operational objectives through reliable execution, attention to detail, and effective coordination with cross-functional partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports procurement of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with program requirements, company procedures, and business needs.
  • Reviews purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, funding information, required approvals, and adherence to established procurement processes.
  • Prepares and issues requests for quotes, bid packages, and other routine solicitation documents to approved suppliers.
  • Obtains supplier quotations and performs basic evaluation of pricing, delivery, lead time, and other commercial considerations in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Processes purchase orders and support purchase order administration, including order acknowledgements, status updates, changes, cancellations, and closeout activities.
  • Coordinates with suppliers to communicate purchase order requirements, delivery schedules, documentation expectations, and routine follow-up items.
  • Monitors open purchase orders and follow up on supplier commitments to support schedule adherence and operational needs.
  • Supports resolution of routine procurement and supplier issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, quantity, receiving, invoicing, and documentation.
  • Maintains procurement files, records, and system data to ensure transactions are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
  • Ensures procurement actions are performed in compliance with company policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable customer requirements.
  • Interfaces with internal stakeholders including planning, operations, engineering, quality, finance, and supply chain to clarify requirements and support procurement execution.
  • Assists with tracking and reporting procurement status, order activity, and other data needed to support team and business objectives.
  • Supports supplier documentation requirements and may assist with supplier setup or onboarding activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts to enhance procurement efficiency, accuracy, and process compliance.
  • Escalates non-routine procurement issues, exceptions, or risks to more senior team members or management as appropriate.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Working knowledge of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or related business operations.
  • Experience supporting purchase order processing, procurement administration, or transactional buying activities.
  • Experience working with supplier quotations, purchasing documentation, and procurement records.
  • Experience using ERP systems or similar business tools to support procurement transactions and order management.
  • Ability to apply established procedures, practices, and policies to routine procurement assignments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ability to identify and resolve routine issues using sound judgment within defined guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with procurement documentation, purchase order terms and conditions, and supplier communication processes.
  • Experience supporting direct material, indirect procurement, or services procurement activities.
  • Familiarity with supplier delivery tracking, order follow-up, and issue resolution
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in support of business or program execution.
  • Basic understanding of price comparison, quotation review, and commercial evaluation practices.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, file maintenance, or internal control requirements.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $63,000 - $117,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $55,000 - $102,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
