Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Specialist to join our team, focusing on the calibration lab and receiving inspection functions. This role is critical in ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest standards of quality and that all equipment used in production is calibrated accurately for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the calibration lab operations, ensuring all measurement and test equipment (M&TE) are calibrated correctly and within required timeframes.
• Develop and maintain calibration procedures and records in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform receiving inspection of incoming materials and components from suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in quality performance.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their quality management systems and calibration practices.
• Work closely with the procurement team to establish quality requirements for new suppliers and participate in the selection process.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the manufacturing and engineering teams regarding calibration and inspection matters.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and CUI, when handling sensitive information or products.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality, calibration labs, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of calibration standards and quality control principles.
• Experience with receiving inspection processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in the use of quality tools and software applications.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- MS Office
- Calibration software experience
- Technical certifications in calibration
- Working knowledge of GD&T
