Job Description:
Primary job duty is to lead the FMV Engineering Team in execution of the FMV program scope from a day to day tactical direction perspective. The Project engineer will be responsible for the internal team activities and interacting with the customer to ensure that current solutions meet expectations and to develop new solutions and products for the customer ahead of their need. In addition, the Project engineer will support the program management staff with EAC and VAC analysis and have responsibility for ensuring that engineering products are on time, on schedule and on cost.
Essential Functions:
- Set direction, align, motivate, and manage the activities of a team of 30 multi disciplined engineers
- Support the Chief Engineer for product support implementation
- Support the RM&A function on End-Of-Life analysis, and on going DMSMS activities.
- Support systems engineering on setting future direction of the sensor system.
- Support program roadmap development.
- Provide liaison between manufacturing and program elements
- Provide onsite support at customer locations.
- Trouble shoot and resolve problems that arise in the field, physical or data related.
- Work with program management for overall program success.
- Take responsibility for cost and schedule of product support related work.
- Build relationship with customer, program team, and industry partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- BS Aerospace, Physics, Optics, Systems, Software, Physics, EE,ME or related technical field. MS or higher degree desired.
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to upgrade to a TS/SCI
- Able to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, documents, schematics, etc.
- Able to work with SME’s in software development, optical engineering, platform integration, etc.
- Must be able to use MS Office tools in a Sharepoint / Teams environment.
- Must know fundamentals of EV.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- PMP Certificate
- Demonstrated leadership skills, certificate or training in leadership
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and related software and project management tools.
