Schedule: 5X8 work schedule. Team is currently working 4/10 M-Th with a potential 8 hours on Friday.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced sheetmetal / structural mechanic to join L3Harris in Tulsa, OK. This position works under general supervision and guidance in disassembly, assembly, checking, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, installing, servicing, fabricating and other operations required to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and all their components while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification.
Essential Functions:
- Performing mechanical modifications, aircraft inspections or repairs, sometimes in confined spaces
- Mechanical component disassembly and reassembly, troubleshooting, system operation and reading tech manuals or other written instructions
- Prepares and maintains aircraft maintenance records and historical documents
- Performs in-progress and follow-up inspections during and upon completion of maintenance actions
- Researches, orders and receives aircraft parts
- Inventories aircraft support equipment
- Maintains hand and special tools in a safe and serviceable condition. Annotates equipment/tools inspection and condition documents. Performs serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non-powered support equipment.
- Complies with established policies, procedures and standards
- Assists other mechanics/specialists as required
- Complies with all safety, environmental, security and housekeeping standards
- Complies with training requirements
- Assists in training newly assigned personnel as required
- Willingness and ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 4 years working with sheet metal or structural modifications to airframe, or fuselage.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires US citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 145 Repair Station Experience highy desired.
- General Aviation experience.
- Current A&P Certification (Airframe and Powerplant)
- Aircraft, spacecraft, or aerospace industry experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
