JobDescription:

The Strategic Subcontracts Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Subcontract process. This Subcontracts Manager will play a leading role in issuingsolicitations, negotiation of supplier agreements, and Subcontract management for complex commercial supplier agreements in support of the growing and exciting Commercial Avionics sector.

EssentialFunctions:

  • Motivated self-starter well versed in the Subcontract Process Flow, Management, and Term and Condition negotiations.
  • Develops all solicitations and terms and conditions of new subcontracts for compliance with program requirements.
  • Must recognize and take exception to any undesirable terms and conditions, which do not protect L-3AS or develop alternatives to those proposed or requested by the supplier.
  • Able to utilize competitive and strategic information to develop detailed negotiation strategies and program implementation plans.
  • Participates in the strategic development of complex proposals by providing key supplier technical and commercial information.
  • Supports ProgramManagement by administrating supplier proposals/quotations in response to a formal L-3AS request to ll a program requirement.
  • Apply expertise in managing complex subcontracts.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide array of professional levels and functions
  • Ability to work well independently whilemaintaining a teammentality in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Follow strategic direction set by Program and functional leadership.
  • Responsible for ensuringthat all subcontract requirements areaccomplished. For major programs, support program review meetings by providing information or discussing strategic supplier issues and opportunities.

  • Manages relationships with key and strategic suppliers. Develops and implements a plan for on-site visits, program reviews, and meetings with these suppliers.
  • Address subcontract changes, both Avionics Systems derived or requested by its customer, to determine the impact to both cost and schedule.
  • Works with supplier on equitable adjustments when AS or its customer requests the change in scope. Provides results of the equitable adjustment to Business Development for AS equitable adjustment proposal to the customer.

Qualications:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Significant experience negotiating and managing Supplier Agreements in support of Commercial Customers (under preferred additional skills)
  • Well versed in the Subcontract Process Flow, Management, and Term and Condition negotiations
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours (under preferred additional skills)
