Job Description:
This Program Management position is for the sustainment support and management of data communications efforts on Army contracts. These contracts provide support and services for a variety of Army ISR airborne and ground systems with related network support, ground data link equipment, and other datalink support systems. This includes support and repair of fielded equipment worldwide. This position has responsibility for all elements of the communications contracts including customer coordination, logistical support, proposal management, coordination with engineering, and also manages the budgets and schedules.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor and report status on cost, schedule and deliveries using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology and tools.
- Lead a cross-functional team including Hardware and Software Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Quality and Security to support on time delivery.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities for lean supply chain.
- Work closely with customers to identify opportunities and solutions as well as provide issue resolution across the program lifecycle. This includes product proposal, production and support.
- Lead proposal preparation, including technical description, statement of work and cost/schedule estimation.
- Provide concise reports to management on status, potential issues, risks, and solution recommendations.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Must have or be able to obtain a US security clearance.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
- Ability to apply for a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Management of Government Property as either DoD Contractor or Government employee
- Minimum of 7 years professional experience with Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Macros) and PowerPoint Presentations
- Experience working as a program manager on government DoD contracts including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations)
- Experience with Earned value and EVMS.
- Experience managing internal and external customer relationships.
- Experience leading a large cross functional team.
- Past engineering experience is helpful.
- Heavy emphasis on very good communication skills, both written and oral
