 Job Description:

The Material Control Analyst will be responsible for managing the efficient movement of purchased material between MRP groups and reviewing/approving both unplanned material requests and purchase requisitions. Also responsible for managing excess & obsolete materials and assisting with coordination activities relative to material mitigation strategies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and manages material movement with internal customers including purchasing, warehouse, and production.
  • Uses various Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools in the enterprise system (SAP) and is responsible for helping maintain data integrity.
  • Reviews and approves unplanned material purchase requests.
  • May assist with research and mitigation strategies for identified material shortages.
  • May create Manual Purchase Requisitions for non-production and service related items.
  • May assist with the Contract Closeout process.
  • May assist with management of excess and obsolete materials.
  • May develop and maintain various tracking and reporting tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 0-2 years of rpior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with Inventory Control.
  • 0-2 years working within a major ERP.
  • 0-2 years working with material purchase requests.
  • Advanced using MS Word and MS Excel are required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Project preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, independent thinking, and a high level of initiative.
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills and able to manage competing priorities.
  • DoD contractor experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, is detail oriented and quality focused.
  • Has exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.
