Position Summary: L3Harris is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Project Engineering Intern. This role is designed for an industrial engineering major who is eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world operations, including material handling, inventory management, master scheduling, and analytics. The successful candidate will support ongoing projects and initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis and improvement of material handling processes to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Support inventory management tasks, including monitoring stock levels, tracking orders, and conducting audits to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with the master scheduling team to help develop and maintain production schedules that align with project timelines and resource availability.
- Utilize data analytics tools to gather, analyze, and interpret operational data, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare and present reports summarizing findings and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Engage in learning opportunities to understand the broader context of industrial engineering within the defense and aerospace industry.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
