Job Description:
L3Harris Tactical Communications is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented SW engineering manager. This position will provide project oversight on SW deliverables within the DoD Radio Product team. The successful candidate will be able to manage project scope, schedule, and budget, as well as be able to collaborate with a cross-functional team.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the tracking of project scope, schedule, and budget for SW product deliverables.
- Facilitates estimates and budget reconciliation within their specific SW function.
- Cross-collaboration with managers of varying disciplines to ensure on-time product deliverables.
- Project planning, including cost, schedule, and resource estimates
- Provide project status and reporting to stakeholders that align with key project milestones and strategy
- Manage entire product implementation cycle including system/software requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, implementation, testing, integration, documentation
- Functional management of a team of software engineers with a focus on mentoring and career development.
- Support recruiting efforts at the both the team and segment level
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience developing and/or managing software engineering solutions. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Experience managing large projects with a budget exceeding $1 Million.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- DOD Secret clearance / ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
- Experience with Capability Maturity Model (CMM)/Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) systems and software development processes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Knowledge or Experience with Earned Value Management
- Previous experience with DoD programs and pursuits.
- Experience with embedded SW development.
- Well-versed with Atlassian workflow software (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Agile design practices, including Scrum and SAFE.
- Demonstrates proficiency at time management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $112,500 - $209,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
