Job Description:
This person will contribute to the company’s success by leading cross functional teams to develop and articulate technical solutions and derive costs for proposals to help our company win new business. This person will be responsible for successfully executing the production and delivery of all proposal deliverables to meet the customer’s requirements and working on process and tool improvements for the team.
Essential Functions:
• Manage all aspects of rapid response proposal development (proposal writing, editing, illustration, production efforts, costing, etc.) from assignment and receipt of RFP, through delivery and receipt by the customer
• Analyze solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI, Task Order etc.) in conjunction with other customer requirements and communications, and determine final document structure
• Work with subject matter experts to develop a technical solution
• Prepare detailed proposal plans, schedule, outline and compliance matrix for assigned pursuits
• Coordinate and lead major project meeting events: Kick-off Meetings, Price Strategy Meetings, Technical reviews
• Manage cost estimation efforts; assist with estimate development
• Lead effective storyboarding and development of strategic win themes and discriminators as appropriate
• Meet established deliverables and production deadlines; support final proposal production activities as needed
• Manage writing assignments and receipt of all proposal materials with authors and teaming partners
• Communicate proposal-related requirements and status with proposal team and senior management, as appropriate
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Management skills to direct and orchestrate medium-sized proposal teams
- Experience with Certified Cost Proposals
- 2+ years relevant professional experience in Shipley TM-style Proposal Management or similar
- Experience working on development programs in a defense contracting environment
- Experience as a customer proposal evaluator
- Strong communication skills; experience writing and presenting technical information to customers and leadership
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills; has the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $74,000 - $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
