Engineering Technician

Opportunity:
Located in Pinkenba, the L3Harris Sustainment Centre (ISC) is a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides the L3Harris Communications Australia programs with through life maintenance support. Within this facility, as a member of the Maintenance Team, this role will be an Apprenticeship position undertaking the Cert III in Electronics and Communications qualification.
The engineering Technician A Works to achieve operational targets within the job area which has minimal impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is of limited scope, typically on smaller, routine task-related activities. Work is closely supervised and consists of routine tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake Apprenticeship program and successfully complete required assessments as per agreed training plan.
- Ability to learn how to effectively diagnose products comprising RF, digital and analogue circuits.
- Accurate data collection associated with diagnostic findings and solutions.
- Provide feedback/learnings to management/mentors, regarding diagnostics, processes, and tools.
- Work closely with supervision on routine tasks.
- Follows established processes to complete assigned tasks.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained through best practice.
- Communicate with contacts typically within the team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
- Ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation.
- Inventory management and record keeping.
- Attend TAFE training when required throughout Apprenticeship.
Skills Required:
- Ability to pass Medical including a Drug and Alcohol assessment
- Ability to pass relevant TAFE units and progress through 4 year Apprenticeship
- Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
- A passion for delivering end-to-end solutions for mission critical needs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Ability to complete Cert III in Electronics and Communications
- Computer skills
- Interest in Math would be an advantage
