Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is looking for an experienced leader, well-versed in project management tools, techniques, and program controls, to lead the Mission Assurance Program Assist teams within the Program Management Excellence organization. The successful candidate will work effectively with the other members of the Program Management Excellence staff, their personnel, and the extended functional areas within the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment. The successful candidate will be able to leverage their experiences leading programs to ensure new start opportunities and in-progress programs are being executed properly. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a critical function of the Program Management Excellence team for one of the largest segments within L3Harris Technologies.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for assessing and deploying teams to assist programs in execution to facilitate overall transition to green
- Assist program teams with the development of quality, compliant program Baseline plans.
- Prepare programs for Integrated Baseline Review (IBR)
- Assist program teams with CEAC development
- Work closely with the Program Planning organization to ensure synchronization of processes
- Leverage extensive PM experience to identify issues/trends within and across programs and provide leadership recommendations on actions to improve outcomes
- Leverage a wide array of PM experience, including challenged program turn around, to provide insight and recommendations
- Engages internal and external subject matter expertise as required to deliver innovative solutions to strategic objectives within the organization
- Brings projects to closure through ability to plan and execute within required timelines
- Apply knowledge of EVMS, scheduling, risk management, and other core principles and tools
- Responsible for understanding strategic objectives, setting expectations, and leading teams to achieve desired outcomes
- Lead various continuous improvement (e3) initiatives for the Program Management Excellence team.
- Provide support to initiatives as laid out by the Director, Program Management Excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in Agile planning and execution
- Understanding of PM training constructs and methods for maturing skills along a PM career path
- Understanding of EVMS concepts with application to company policy/documentation to include cost/schedule integration, risk identification and change management
- Ability to obtain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
- Ability to Travel – up to 35%
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in multiple phases of the program management lifecycle from bid & proposal, through transition & start up, development, production, and sustainment
- Experience leveraging root cause and corrective action tools to properly diagnose and recover challenged programs
- Previous matrixed and direct line leadership experience
- Ability to lead and develop relationships with geographically dispersed individuals
- Strong knowledge and skills with the ability to apply recognized Project Management and Risk Management methodologies.
- Understanding of PM within matrixed organizations and the integral role each function plays in program success
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
