Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Security Support team member to join the Security Operations team located in Palm Bay/Melbourne, Florida. The primary role will involve assisting the Visitor Control team with processing classified and unclassified visits to L3Harris facilities in Brevard County, Florida. Additionally, this role will include supporting the 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), utilizing technologies such as access control, CCTV, fire alarm monitoring systems and intrusion detection systems. The GSOC plays a vital role in emergency management, and coordinating responses of various agencies, departments, and stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Greet company visitors and assist them in processing through the visitor identification and badging process according to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor personnel entering company facilities to ensure they are authorized entry and are displaying proper identification at multiple sites in Brevard County.
- Provide support in pre-screening visitors for access.
- Conduct administrative tasks associated with visitor and access control, conference and special event support, facility security inspections, investigations, document control, and security education.
- Perform personnel security clearance coordination and processing activities.
- Strong knowledge of personnel security disciplines that allows for direct interaction with customer personnel security representatives.
- Prepare and maintain continuity books and procedures for multiple security functions.
- Assist the Visitor Control team with generating and presenting security related material as needed.
- Assist with event and visitor management for on-site events hosted by internal and external customers.
- Responsible for monitoring and operating security systems including intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, environmental monitoring, and fire alarm systems.
- Manage and coordinate responses to access control, fire, intrusion, and environmental alarms.
- Initiate and coordinate responses with emergency responders, internal stakeholders, law enforcement, contract security force, and security leadership during an emergency or incident.
- Manage communications for emergency and non-emergency calls, to include handling radio dispatch, phone, and email.
- Act as a liaison between L3Harris, contractors, and external vendors, including security guard force and journey management provider.
- Create accurate and timely incident reports, escalating as appropriate and necessary.
- This position requires shift work. Candidate must be able to work all shifts; 2nd or 3rd shift, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Strong computer skills and basic knowledge of computer programs to include Microsoft office suite and data entry software.
- Ability to work alternating shifts, nights, weekend, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to lift over 25lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience working in DoD Collateral security environments.
- Experience working in SAP or SCI security environments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to work under stressful conditions.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexibility, sound judgment, and ability to multitask.
