Job Description:

The Program Manager will support our Core Avionics Production Enterprise (CAPE) in the execution of Production and Sustainment programs. The candidate will have proven experience in leading cross-functional teams of engineers, quality, test technicians, and planning to exceed individual customer contractual objectives and internal operational goals. Responsibilities include driving program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow. The Program Manager is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program as welll as for acting as the primary customer contact for program activities and leading program review sessions. The Program Manager establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules as well as identifies program problems and obtains solutions such as allocating resources or changing specifications. This individual will be required to generate proposals for new business pursuits and participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.

Essential Functions:

• Lead all phases of the program from inception through completion
• Lead Integrated Product Teams (technical, manufacturing, and functional) cross functionally to ensure successful program execution and drive non-value-added costs out of the program
• Determine appropriate performance metrics, clarify priorities, and develop and implement specific management plans to support the program
• Develop and lead proposals for funding requests to the customer and support customer proposals for new and follow-on business
• Utilize program management tools to monitor and report program performance to objectives (including budget, schedule, and other management requirements) and facilitate project coordination and decision-making
• Assist in the development and delivery of presentations/recommendations to senior Program Managers and Company Management, and stakeholders
• Act as the primary customer contact for program activities to understand/interpret customer requirements to derive solutions and expand portfolio scope
• Manage assigned programs to meet schedules, performance, and budget commitments (contractual and expected)
• Communicate program requirements and support personnel needs (Engineering, Finance, Contracts, Quality, Material Control, Purchasing, Manufacturing, etc)
• Identify issues impacting program performance and lead efforts to drive them to closure

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience leading the generation of new business proposals within the Aerospace and Defense Industry
• Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
• Knowledge in the manufacturing arena and product operations environment
• Practical knowledge of project management tools and processes
• Prior experience in supplier management, understanding of Supply Chain with respect to Procurement, and Material Management processes and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Systems
