Job Description:
L3Harris IMS segment is looking for a Continuous Improvement professional to help drive a culture of Operational Excellence. This will include working toward alignment of functional leaders on how to manage and lead in a high change and matrix organization; training, coaching, and mentoring CI practitioners, Lean/Green Belt (GB)/Black Belt (BB) and cross functional team members through projects that align to strategic business objectives. The candidate must have the ability to diagnose business needs and put plans in place to address them via Kaizen events, Lean, GB / BB projects or by “Just Do Its” (JDI’s).
Essential Functions:
- Training, coaching, and leadership to drive the continuous improvement (e3) savings process, achieving the organizations yearly goals.
- Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
- Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
- Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
- Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
- Develop and drive a continuous improvement roadmap that enables the business results.
- Develop and execute capacity improvement plans.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify and capture process improvement opportunities.
- Drive the Implementation of the OpEx Framework - Business Operating System.
- Facilitate continuous improvement events (i.e. Value stream mapping events, kaizens, Problem solving, 3P, Flow, etc).
- Drive efforts to identify and coordinate the planning for Kaizen events and projects, including objectives, root cause analysis, tool identification and team structure
- Ensure follow up actions are addressed from continuous improvement events
- Make effective decisions that drive business performance
- Develop training material as required to support continuous improvement activities
- Coach team on Gemba & Problem-solving processes
- Take initiative to follow up on open tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Travel to all IMS locations which may include international travel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited university or college; AND 12+ years of diverse Operations experience with hands-on leadership experience leading small to medium sized organizations in day-to-day execution & improvement; OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Strong hands-on experience deploying Lean Manufacturing in complex/highly regulated manufacturing environments (value stream mapping, kaizen, 5S, one-piece flow, TPM, etc.) with a proven record of achieving sustainable results
- Certified Lean Black Belt (*Master Black belt preferred)
- Subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of job area and exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
