Specialist, Aircraft Maintenance
Under the administration of the Senior Manager Operations in Mirabel, the Specialist Aircraft Maintenance will include the preparation and review of correspondence, status reports, program plans and schedules in relation to the STTC bid and proposal. You will be required to manage the exchange of aircraft maintenance /project data between departments as well as providing input on aircraft maintenance activities. In addition, your role will be to provide risk management, prepare monthly briefings and reports. The position exercises self-leadership, patience, diligence and project management subject matter expertise working within the operations department.
Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of the Specialist, Aircraft Maintenance will be to assist the STTC Aircraft Maintenance Lead deliver aircraft maintenance proposal objectives of the STTC program Team. More specifically:
- Prepare aircraft maintenance operations schedule and requirements;
- Develop work flow for all maintenance activities;
- Identify and list all STE required to support the STTC project;
- Contribute to documentation review;
- Contribute to CONOPS development;
- Help prepare Price-to-Win evaluations;
- Conduct project closures and lessons learned;
- Occasional travel in support of program activities required;
- Promote the Continuous Improvement Culture;
- Other activities assigned by the Lead, Aircraft Maintenance.
Profile:
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in proposal submissions and standing up new aircraft maintenance establishments;
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, in English (Bilingual French/English would be an asset);
- Experience in an aerospace and defense environment;
- Experience in managing Project teams;
- Be autonomous, strong initiative, reliable and have judgment skills.
The successful candidate shall also:
- Have knowledge of Government of Canada Procurement Policy and Regulations.
- Be process oriented and address all important project related issues promptly, decisively and assumes accountability for his/her and the team’s actions.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills interacting with all the stakeholders and Divisional matrix support organization.
- Have intermediate MS Office skills in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.), PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Word.
- Ability to: organize and prioritize assignments, analyze a problem and recommend / implement solutions, work multiple tasks and deal with competing priorities, work independently in a fast-paced team environment, work well under pressure, be flexible and accept change.
- Understanding of Intellectual Property – ownership, rights to use and compliance.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Systems, Applications and Processes (SAP), or other ERP systems.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
