What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

• Participate in security incident management and vulnerability management processes
• Work as part of a team to ensure that corporate data and technology platform components are safeguarded from known threats
• Provide input on tuning and optimisation of security tools
• Follow ITIL practices regarding incident, problem and change management
• Document and maintain customer build documents, security procedures and processes
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, including applicable regulatory security requirements
• Coordinate with stakeholders and resolve technical problems
• Determine how security incidents occurred and be responsible for incident reports
• Perform an initial investigation in response to security alerts
• Be responsible for basic security investigation, documentation and reporting on information security issues
• Ensuring that all incidents, alerts and exceptions are responded to in accordance with established procedures
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and management
• Any other responsibilities and additional duties as assigned by the security management team lead

What you’ll bring

The role of Security Support Engineer requires the following experience and skills:

• B.Tech or B.E in Electrical Engineering/ Electronic and Communication/Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering/Network Technology/IT/Computer Science & Engineering
• 1-2 years’ experience in a SOC environment (Cyber Security/Security Operations/SOC)
• Industry certifications in SIEM Platform, CCNA, CEH, MCSE etc. preferred
• Flexible to work any time, and happy with a 24/7 environment
• Hold basic knowledge of Network and Network Protocol, Routing, Switching, IP addressing / Subnet, OSI model, Packet Flow at different OSI layers, Wireshark, Network Packet Capture and Analysis
• Good understanding of Security Incidents and Response
• Good understanding of the Threat Hunting and Intelligence process
• Good understanding of the Security Operations (SIEM, IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing, File Integrity Monitoring etc.)
• Good Communication and analytical skills
