About your next Challenge as a Sheet Metal Worker
What will you do:
- Determine the order of operations to be performed and the necessary tools by consulting the drawings, work orders and other relevant data;
- Run drawn parts, reference lines and reference points on metals by calculating linear and angular dimensions, and by using reproduction equipment and measurement precision;
- Making profiles and sheet metal parts or complete the manufacture of machined parts;
- Perform operations according to tight tolerances, such as manual shaping of the frame parts, fins, tubes, etc;
- Laminating the edges of the part, removing asperities on contoured surfaces with difficult access, shaping the profiled connections to repair damaged parts and align work pieces deformed by heat treatment;
- Use hand and power tools such as crimpers, the arbor presses, oil presses, the swaging equipment, centering rolls, etc;
- Ensure that the dimensions and shapes of the parts correspond to the data set using templates and trimming, etc;
- Build and adapt parts and sheet metal for aircraft, mostly prototypes, and perform hot working or straightening parts;
- Do remanufacturing operations;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Vocational diploma in precision sheet metal work or a DEC in aerospace engineering (DEC in construction) or any other relevant diploma or military equivalence;
- 3 to 5 years experience
- Experience in the aeronautic industry (an asset);
- Bilingualism (an asset);
- Strong teamwork skills;
- Is dynamic, innovative and stimulated by technical challenges;
- Is organized, autonomous and has strong analytical skills.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
- For on-site positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
