Job Description:
Essential Functions:
- 3-6 years of network engineering experience with IP networks and cloud environments.
- Evaluate technologies and designs in relation to remote critical infrastructure, intergrating both physical and cloud based networks.
- Experience in configuring & hardening routers, switches, firewalls VPN/ SSH Tunnels particularly in environments involving RHEL servers and AWS infrastructure.
- Ability to configure and operate AWS networking features, including Security Groups, ACLs, and software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.
- Implement solutions that support customer visions and objectives supporting both on-premises and cloud network architectures.
- Participate in inter-program initiatives and discussions to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges across a distributed network system.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and training for engineering and NOC teams
- Experience with network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, HPE, Arista, F5 with the ability to manage complex, carrier-grade networks and technologies such as Carrier Ethernet
- Experience implementing and managing carrier grade network and network technologies such as Carrier Ethernet technologies.
- Experience in the configuration and implementation of Type-1 encryption used in encryption of data in transit (KG family of encryptors).
- In depth implementation and troubleshooting experience of IP networks.
- Knowledge of IP technologies such as Netflow, TCP and UDP signaling, IS-IS, OSPFv2, OSPFv3, iBGP, eBGP, MPLS Layer 3 VPNs, Pseudowire, Ethernet switching, and EXU messaging.
- Experience with AWS DevOps tools, including Git, Jira, Confluence, and other collaborative platforms.
- Define and implement best practices for network and capacity management.
- Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization.
- Routinely perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integration.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to think critically in high pressure environments.
- Travel as required for integration and test efforts (up to 20%).
- CCNA or equivalent vendor certification.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Public Trust Required (Abiliity to obtain and maintain)
- DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 certification.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Secret or TS-SCI security clearance desireable.
