Job Description:

L3Harris’ Corporate Headquarters located in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Sr. Manager, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing to join our Corporate Direct Category Management Team. This highly visible, fast-paced, multi-dimensional role drives organizational value by providing strategic and day-to-day leadership across our Enterprise spend.  This includes directing Sourcing Specialists in strategic sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, and cost model development for key suppliers. Additional responsibilities include working with executive management, Category Managers, and functional stakeholders to identify best in class strategic sourcing practices. Candidates should bring broad leadership experience and advanced sourcing knowledge to lead a team to drive cost savings and operational efficiency across Categories (Electronics, PCBs, Cables & Connectors, Machine and Fabrication) leveraging $1B - $2B in spend.

This role will report to the Director of Category Management as part of the Corporate Direct Category Management Team and our strategic supply chain organization focused on leveraging the company’s scale and deploying best practices that achieve best possible quality, technology, cost and delivery for our customers.         

Essential Functions:

  • Partner as a subject matter expert (SME) on a continuous basis with internal customers to understand evolving business objectives, expectations and specific requirements
  • Perform historical spend analyses to provide insights into sourcing strategy and pressure-test with Segments to confirm future needs and identify opportunities
  • Develop market insights through research and data, industry developments, supply/demand dynamics, emerging technologies, leading-edge practices
  • Drive consistent RFP, supplier selection, and data collection processes and codify best practices
  • Define and implement sourcing strategies across multiple categories & programs and ensure alignment to category strategies
  • Lead initial vendor identification and oversee bid evaluation analysis for Category Leads including qualitative information provided by suppliers and supplier pricing structure
  • Perform response reporting and scenario analysis as input for final supplier selection
  • Coordinate with Segments on parts to be included in sourcing events
  • Recommend all sourcing levers, including supplier rationalization, direct negotiations, make vs. buy analyses, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, rebates
  • Leverage advanced procurement analytics and tools to inform negotiation strategies (e.g., should-cost modeling, price regression analysis, scenario planning, eAuctions, etc.)
  • Drive negotiations with strategic and preferred suppliers to maximize benefits across L3Harris and its affiliates
  • Oversee completion of contracts with strategic and preferred suppliers and develop Statements of Work and Terms and Conditions with suppliers in accordance with engineering, production, and quality requirements
  • Provide input into duration of contracts awarded based on received bids
  • Demonstrate mastery of end-to-end Sourcing process with experience across Segments and Categories
  • Provide input into SRM on supplier lead times, capabilities, capacity, and competitive advantages

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • 3+ years in management or leading a team

Preferred Skillset:

  • Communication skills with ability to influence leaders and drive decision making
  • Management of directly reporting personnel and associated workload to ensures right person in right role for success
  • Self-managed/motivated – ability to independently set priorities, meet commitments with a desire to continuously improve 
  • Coordination across Categories and Segments
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry preferred with specific FAR/DFAR experience
  • Knowledge of CPSR and government audits

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role inColorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $101,000 - $187,000. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area and New York City, the salary range for this role is $115,500 - $214,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
