Quality Assurance Manager

About the opportunity:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to drive the Quality Assurance aspects of the Airservices Australia Enterprise Network Modernization Program (ENMP).  In this role, the Quality Manager will be responsible for the maintaining program compliance with the organisations quality process and procedures.

Essential Functions:

The Quality Manager reports to the Program Manager and will be responsible for maintaining ENMP program compliance with the required quality standards. Tasks and duties may involve:

  • Ensure that the program and staff adhere to the quality system and continues to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
  • Ensure that the project continues to maintain independent quality accreditation.
  • Act as spokesperson for the project on quality and accreditation matters when required.
  • Collaboration with contracts, engineering, operations, supply chain, program leadership, external customer representatives to ensure contractual requirements are met while maintaining quality registers/records.
  • Develop/implement an audit schedule/plan to ensure audits are conducted at the appropriate intervals supporting their importance to project while also ensuring compliance to internal/external requirements and standards (ISO 9001 etc.);
  • Educate functions on quality requirements/expectations and drive accountability for compliance.
  • Program interface for internal/external company audits (leads internal audits)
  • Support and verify control of source code, configuration management and change management.
  • Incorporate approved suggestions for improvement into the quality system.
  • Where elements of the quality system are unworkable, cumbersome or need to change for other reason, ensure that necessary changes are made to the quality system.
  • Facilitate & drive RCCA (root cause corrective action) take “ownership” and collaboratively work with team to determine “true” root cause, thus preventing repeat defects.
  • Associate defects with COPQ (cost of poor quality) and quantify cost savings associated with defect reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field, and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Formal qualifications in quality control and management.
  • Experience in a quality management role, with a clear understanding of ISO-9001 and related standards, and preferably a good knowledge of software and system quality methods.
  • Experience with Services subcontracts.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to travel to Customer and Consortium Partner sites to support testing.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products.
  • Engineering qualification, or experience on an engineering program would be well regarded.
