Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Supervisor for our Support Engineering department to work at our Mason Ohio Facility.
As a member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will work as the technical lead supporting the production of control avionics for the Space industry. The Product Support Engineering department is responsible for investigating production test issues, including developing forward plans to determine root cause, establishing corrective and preventive actions, formally documenting the investigation, and tracking progress and providing status to both internal and external customers. This position is also responsible for evaluating production results for trends and developing improvements to increase the efficiency and yield of the production process.
Essential Functions:
- Leadership of direct reports to ensure adherence to support engineering processes and procedures.
- Responsible for determing staffing requirements and adjusting staffing levels as needed.
- Responsible for coaching and development of engineering team.
- Responsible for career counseling for each individual with performance evaluations and career discussions throughout the year. Prepare and administer performance reviews for those individuals on their staff.
- Troubleshoot unit and test equipment failures on the production floor
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers
- Drive issues to root cause and implement appropriate corrective and preventative actions
- Document investigations in test discrepancy reports
Qualifications:
- Requires strong knowledge of job area. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 10+ years of experience working with electronic analog and digital circuitry, including, voltage dividers, op-amps, digital ICs, transistors, FPGAs, etc.
- 10+ years of experience of test equipment use, including, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, and PXI instruments
- 10+ years of electronics troubleshooting experience
- 10+ years of experience performing detailed root cause analysis
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to mathematically calculate and analyze voltages and currents in a circuit
- Ability to write debug software in various languages to assist in driving failure investigations to root cause.
- Ability to learn custom test software, test systems, and test fixture functionality
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required to support production schedules
- Comfortable interfacing with both internal and external customers
- Desire to work collaboratively with other organizations to improve processes
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- An understanding of programming languages, such as, C/C++, National Instruments LabVIEW, and National Instruments TestStand
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Ability to develop creative yet practical solutions to technical challenges
- Strong drive and sense of ownership
- Desire to learn and master new material
- An understanding of acceptance and qualification testing of military or space qualified electronics
- MS Office products including MS Word and Excel
- Familiarity with EMI, vibration, and thermal testing a plus
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Ability to generate effective corrective and preventative actions
