Job Description:
This RF Design Engineering position will be responsible for the design of complex RF communication data transmitters utilized in rockets, satellites, and orbital maneuvering vehicles (i.e. Mars Rover and Orbiter)
Career paths from subject matter expert to project leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Design of RF circuits used in LNAs, SSPAs, upconverters, downconverters, PLLs, and other common RF applications.
- Translate requirements into circuit topologies and architectures.
- Lead or participate in discussions with customers and team members.
- Design, test, and deliver RF hardware products to meet cost and schedule needs.
- Support mixed signal circuit card designs with analog and digital designers.
- Perform circuit simulations and analysis to meet requirements, complete stress/derating, and worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA)
- Perform ADS simulations on schematics and PWB structures.
- Create design documentation and supporting artifacts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- Experience designing Radio Frequency transreceivers
- Experience with RF Test Equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers and complex waveform generators
- Experience using complex modulation schemes
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance from the U.S. Government which requires U.S Citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficient using Mentor Grapics ADS Software
- Power amplifier or low-noise amplifier design experience
- Experience with High power voltage greater than 50 watts.
- Proficient in a semi-clean room test theater including ESD precautions
- Project Leadership experience
- UHF, L, S, X, Ka Band frequencies, ie 400 MHz to 40 GHz
