Job Description:
Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks, and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Candidate should be well versed with transportation and logistics skills to ensure proper transportation modes are utilized.
- Supports the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment
- Working with Material Management to reject unsatisfactory items where necessary via computer system.
- Knowledge of handling, packaging, and preparing classified material for shipment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Experience working in a transportation or logistics field.
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills. Deadline driven.
- Knowledge and application of Lean tools and principles
- Ability to apply capacity planning concepts & prioritize work assignments for operators
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Previous experience maintaining Min/Max systems.
- Experience working in a transportation or logistics field.
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills. Deadline driven.
- Knowledge and application of Lean tools and principles
- Ability to apply capacity planning concepts & prioritize work assignments for operators
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Previous electronics assembly or technician experience
