Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a proactive and dedicated Environmental, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) Intern to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of our EHS programs, policies, and training. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the development and improvement of EHS programs and policies.
Respond to employee concerns regarding health and safety issues.
Conduct hazardous noise surveys and perform Job Hazard Analyses.
Evaluate indoor air quality and track data from evaluations.
Coordinate with third-party contractors for EHS-related activities.
Participate in laboratory health and safety audits.
Engage in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
Contribute to health and safety reviews of chemical purchase requests.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Systems Safety, Human Factors, or a related field.
Must be at Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status within the degree program.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in the field of EHS.
Strong understanding of safety and health standards, rules, and regulations.
Familiarity with safe work practices and accident investigation techniques.
Knowledge of OSHA, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), indoor air quality, hazardous noise, cranes, and aerial lift operations is preferred.
